Stumbled on Gina Yashere’s appearance on the One54 Africa podcast very recently, and just had to listen to the whole thing. For some reason, it took Bob Hearts Abisola for me to come across her (impressive body of work) but the more I learn, the more impressed I am: British-Nigerian (with roots in my corner of Nigeria), Lift Maintenance Engineer and quite funny!
The one about her mother and her spartan approach to showing affection reminded me of some of my online musings from way back.
It is remarkable how all of our stories of trying to manage the duality of being British and Nigeria intersect.
