Of my X/Twitter follows, @eldivine tweeted something which caught my attention.

Whilst I am not entirely sure I agree, there is a kernel of truth there. One could argue that it is the black tax writ large, with all its negative connotations. That does not account for things like the Igbo system of patronage in which apprentices under-study an entrepreneur, graduate and then pay it forward in some way.
A related discussion is that around our resident Billionaire, Dangote, and just how much/ how not he has contributed to industrialisation in Nigeria. I for one think he has overly benefited from state capture, rather being some investment genius. This is certainly something I need to engage which deeper, particularly with the lens of development and industrialisation.
