Finally finished Kate Mosse’s tome, Warrior Queens and Quiet Revolutionaries after having it on my to-read list since it made an appearance on the Empire podcast.
Part biography, part celebration of femininity, it was great to see a few names I know crop up. For a final word, I have to go to the afterword:
This, then, is it. The truth of a life, the quality of it, the value of it. Out of all these individual lives – some dazzling and brilliant, burning bright, others quiet and principled – is history made.
