80. Slow Sundays

Victoria Place Shopping Centre – Out of This World Show

We have somehow settled into a slow Sunday routine – settled being the operative word here as no overarching thought was given to it. The starting point is usually catching the 11.30am church service and then ambling through Victoria Place shopping Centre.

S and F usually go off to the Sainsbury’s to polish off whatever is pending from the week’s shopping whilst L and I make a beeline for Auntie Annes. Our poison of choice there are the mini-dogs: we have L’s real life American auntie to blame for introducing her to them. Sometimes they will have some ready to go, but usually there is a ten to fifteen minutes wait whilst a fresh batch is made up. Whatever happens we usually finish before the Sainsbury’s crew – which leaves us some time to wander about – popping into CEX sometimes to gaze lovingly at used Thinkpads on occasion.

Today’s ambling threw up the Out of this World show at Victoria’s Place which was good to stumble on. L and I have been talking planets, having had her interests piqued by an AumSum episode. Her joy was visible, as she pointed out Saturn, Jupiter and Earth. For some reason Pluto hadn’t yet been cut from the display.

Suspect science notwithstanding, it felt great to stumble onto interesting things in public spaces every now and again.
